Our Story

For a long as I can remember I have wanted to create a beautiful selection of Flower Presses, designed & crafted in Ireland, on the shores of the Wild Atlantic Coast.

To me, it’s not simply a Flower Press. It is a means of bringing people together & returning whole generations of families to Nature.

I hope to see your stories of days foraging for precious ferns & dancing flowers along our beautiful scented hedgerows. Parents hand in hand with their children filling baskets to the brim with nature’s bounty, ready to return home and gather around the table to spend afternoons joyfully pressing their treasures. Writing notes on little scraps of paper beside each leaf or blooms so as not to forget these memories.

Each press is designed using  birch plywood withy brass hardware.

You have a choice of either Sycamore or Chestnut veneer - engraved with our beautiful logo of a wild hare.

All presses are available in two sizes, A4 and A5

It is very important to everyone here at The Flower Press Company to not only design an aesthetically beautiful product but also to design a product that will improve with age and not contribute to our already over flowing landfills.

Most definitely, not just a A Flower Press but a family Heirloom.

Ann Marie’s Story

I have always been at my happiest strolling beneath the dappled light of Beech trees smiling at my dogs racing around, full of the joys that only being unleashed to run free in the wilds of a forest can truly give an animal.

I feel at peace when spending time immersed in nature. It’s where I retreat from the daily noise of our life today when it all get a little too much. You will always find me seeking out the precious green areas of every new city I visit.

It is where I do most of my creative thinking.

It is my hope that everyone will in time return to nature and again appreciate it’s magnificent simplicity, leaving their screens behind them for a little while. We have so much to learn from all that surrounds us in nature. Its strong resilience of our ever changing climate and its wonderful ability to adapt to each season. It does not fight against the ageing and shedding of its leaves each year, but simply accept that they will reappear in spring, burst into life and once again cast us in dappled light offering us shelter for another year.

It was on one of these such rambles through a forest that the seeds of The Flower Press Company were sown, while I picked ferns & Silver weed to bring home as mementos of a beautiful day.

My wish for The Flower Press Company is that it will encourage people to pause and appreciate the magnificence of the nature that surrounds us. We have all seen the strength of  a tiny flower, push through a crack in a city pavement in its fierce need to survive and not give up.

I wish I could share with you all the peace & tranquility that descends upon me when I choose to stop and reach out to touch a leaf or a flower and smile in wonder at its strength.

Perhaps with my Flower Press strung over your shoulder, you will again go adventuring & exploring the beautiful laneways & hedgerows of your home.

Maybe you will…I hope you do.

Go a little softly wild.
